About Jan

Jan, a Ph.D. candidate in the Materials Science program, teaches in the Metallurgical & Materials Engineering department. She teaches process instrumentation and control, pyrometallurgy & thermal processing, metallurgical & materials engineering safety & health, metallurgical and materials thermodynamics, particulate systems processing laboratory, and mineral processing laboratory. Her industry experience includes work as a metallurgical engineer for Western Energy Company in Winston, Montana, and as a principle investigator and mineral resource engineer working on the National Coal Resource Data System (NCRDS) at the Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology in Butte, Montana.  Jan manages CAMP’s Army Research Laboratory (ARL) funded research database, and thanks to her industry experience and knowledge across multiple fields of study, she is one of CAMP’s great resources for questions related to analytical instrumentation, and mineral metallurgical processing equipment and test methodology.
