If you are experiencing a crisis/emergency please call 911 or if you can safely, go to your local emergency department. In Butte, go to St. James Healthcare at 400 S Clark Street.

At Montana Technological University, we believe your Mental Health is a key component to student success. Mental Health services are free with your tuition. We empower student growth and development of skills and awareness with respect for the spiritual, cultural and individual difference of each student. Our purpose is to hold a space of non-judgement for the student with support and guidance to process their experiences. Research has shown a student that is mentally healthy is a productive and successful student. Let us help you to be at the top of your academic game!
If you have concerns regarding the behavior or changes in a student or peer, please complete this form: Reporting Concerning Behavior Form.

Knowing that our student’s time is limited and often not available during “school hours” for counseling sessions, we have counselors that can see you throughout the day. If our on-campus staff cannot get you in, our virtual therapists are available through our partnering with Mantra Health. Through this partnership, student will have cost-free access to therapists that are licensed with the state of Montana in a secure “zoom-like” experience.

Some of the reasons we see students include:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Life Transitions
  • Relationships
  • Social Interaction/Engagement
  • Emotional Distress
  • Self-Identity
  • Self-esteem
  • Family Conflict
  • Loss and Grief
  • Eating Disorders
