Montana Tech Lab Receives Certification from International Organization for Standardization

Montana Tech has received certification from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 17025 for its Materials Testing Laboratory, a major component of Montana Tech’s Center for Advanced Mineral, Metallurgical and Materials Processing (CAMP). This highly sought after certification gives a unique capability to the laboratory space within the university. ISO is an independent, non-governmental international organization with a membership of 161 national standards bodies. Through its members, it brings together experts to share knowledge and develop voluntary, consensus-based, market relevant International Standards that support innovation and provide solutions to global challenges.

“We are excited to offer our Montana and national clients this valuable addition to our service for the various material tests that we perform,” stated Laboratory Manager Ronda Coguill. “Our certified ISO accreditation assures our clients that the work performed in our Materials Testing Laboratory is traceable and reliable for their needs.” The CAMP laboratory specializes in the mechanical characterization of materials from metals, ceramics and advanced composite materials such as carbon, boron and fiberglass reinforced plastics.
