Chancellor's Cabinet
The Chancellor’s Cabinet is responsible for overseeing the university's highest priorities and governance processes to ensure alignment with the institution's mission, strategic goals, and operational needs. The Cabinet meets every two weeks on Monday morning from 8:30 am to 10:00 am and as needed. Agenda requests are due by end-of-business on the prior Thursday and can be sent to jjones16@mtech.edu.
Responsibilities
The Cabinet is responsible for:
- Strategic Prioritization:
Assess, prioritize, and advance institutional initiatives based on potential impact, resources required, and alignment with the university’s mission and purpose. - Policy Review:
Review and recommend proposed revisions to university policies, ensuring they reflect current best practices, legal requirements, and the university’s values. - Board of Regents Proposals:
Evaluate and approve high-level proposals that will be submitted to the Board of Regents for final approval, including major curricular changes, budget plans, and facilities proposals. - NWCCU Accreditation and Strategic Plan Fulfillment:
Regularly monitor NWCCU accreditation requirements and the implementation of the university's strategic plan, reviewing progress and providing recommendations for adjustments to ensure fulfillment of the institution’s mission and purpose. The Director of Institutional Research and the Accreditation Liaison Officer will be invited to present regularly. - Regulatory Compliance Oversight:
At a high level, ensure university operations and decisions comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as relevant accreditation and reporting requirements. - Senate Priorities:
Ensure priorities raised by the Faculty, Staff, and Student Senates are addressed and resolved.
