Confidentiality

Please note that if you completed a Request to Restrict Release of Directory Information during your time at Montana Tech, your name will not appear on the graduation list, in the commencement brochure, or in the newspaper article about graduation. Also, we recommend that you have this confidentiality flag removed from your account before you graduate. If a potential employer were to call Montana Tech to verify that you’ve earned a degree from Montana Tech, we cannot release that information if you have a confidentiality flag on your account. If you wish to remove this flag, please complete the Authorization to Release Directory Information form and turn it in at the Enrollment Services Office in SSC 3.126.

If you or a family member requires any special assistance at the ceremony due to a disability or mobility challenges, please email graduation@mtech.edu. There will be a designated drop-off and parking location for guests with disabilities.

These will be mailed alongside your official diploma once the final graduation check-out process is complete. (Please note: Plaques will be withheld for students with outstanding account holds.)

Important Information

  • We recommend guests arrive well in advance of the ceremony to secure their spots. Seating in the HPER is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Once capacity is reached, guests will be directed to a nearby overflow classroom to view the commencement via live stream. To comply with safety regulations and ensure a clear view for all, standing room is not permitted; only seated guests may remain in the HPER.
  • Graduates and guests must follow all staff instructions during the event.
  • Guests must remain in the audience for the duration of the ceremony.

Graduate Survey

Montana Tech is extremely excited to participate in The Outcomes Survey, the industry standard for reporting student’s outcomes after graduation. Your response is critical for federal reporting requirements, academic and career advising, student recruitment, peer-school comparison, and other institutional reporting needs. Strong outcomes also mean employers value your degree long after you graduate. Help us keep Montana Tech’s outcome numbers strong and accurate!

You can report them via the Career Outcomes Form. We’ll be calling and emailing anyone who doesn’t complete the survey, so complete it as soon as you know your employment plans and you won’t be on the call/email list. If you have any questions or need assistance, now or in the future, please contact Career Services at careerservices@mtech.edu or 406-496-4140. Feel free to let us know your outcome when you email or call.
