International Student Services

Montana Technological University believes in fostering an environment in which all of our students feel at home both on our campus and in the community.

The office of International Services supports international students, employees, and scholars as they strive to achieve their educational, professional, and personal objectives. Our office assists international students’ transition to life in the U.S. and at Montana Tech, serves as the primary campus liaison to U.S. government agencies (Department of Homeland Security, Department of State, Student and Exchange Visitor Program) in issues relevant to F1 and J1 students to ensure access to updated and accurate immigration information, and provides services necessary to meet the unique needs of international students.

If you have received an I-20 and have entered legally into the United States, it is imperative that you understand and follow all regulations outlined by the Department of Homeland Security. The Director of International Services acts as Montana Tech’s principal designated school official (DSO) and serves as your primary contact for questions regarding your F-1 status. In order to be legally in the United States, you must report to the principal DSO within 10 days of entering the country.
