Montana Tech YouTube Recruiting Video Contest

We need recruiting videos!! We're about to launch a new recruiting effort that requires various short videos about Montana Tech. Therefore, we’re holding a YouTube™ contest for our current students!  We'd like to have videos created by students that highlight the academic departments at Montana Tech as well as student activities such as athletics, clubs & organizations, outdoor recreation, etc.
 
To encourage participation, we’re offering generous scholarships as prizes:
First place (Best Video Submitted) (1 prize): $5,000 scholarship
Second place (2nd Best Video Submitted) (1 prize): $3,000 scholarship
Third place (3rd Best Video Submitted) (1 prize): $1,500 scholarship
Award for Most Creative Video (1 prize): $1,000 scholarship
Award for Best Visual Presentation (1 prize): $1,000 scholarship
Award for Best Academic Department Video (1 prize): $1,000 scholarship
Award for Best Student Activity Video (1 prize): $1,000 scholarship
Award for Best Montana Tech Overall Video (not focused on one specific program) (1 prize): $1,000 scholarship
Award for Best Athletics Overall Video (not focused on one specific sport): $1,000 scholarship
Award for Best Computer Science Department Video (1 prize): $500 scholarship
Award for Best Technical Communication Department Video (1 prize): $1,000 scholarship
Award for Best Petroleum Engineering Department Video (1 prize): $1,000 scholarship
Award for Best Biological Sciences Department Video (1 prize): $500 scholarship
Award for Best Environmental Engineering Department Video (1 prize): $1,000 scholarship
Award for Best Nursing Department Video (1 prize): $500 scholarship
Award for Best Mining Engineering Department Video (1 prize): $1,000 scholarship

• You do not need to declare which category you want to be judged in.  Your submission will qualify you for all of the above categories.
• The videos will be screened by a judging committee for quality and accuracy of content.  Of those selected to move forward, winners will be chosen by popular vote (students, faculty, staff, and community members will be encouraged to vote).  Exception: Faculty in the departments that are sponsoring an award will choose the winners of their scholarship (Computer Science, Technical Communication, Petroleum Engineering, Biological Sciences)
• It’s possible for one entry to be chosen as the winner of multiple categories.
• Scholarship prizes are Montana Tech scholarships and are not transferrable to other colleges.  Scholarships will be applied to the students’ account next academic year.  If the scholarship amount exceeds the amount of the student’s bill, the student will receive the remainder of the scholarship in the form of a refund check.
• For all scholarship prizes, we reserve the right to not award the scholarship if no high-quality videos are submitted. 
• Deadline for submissions is March 29, 2013 at 5:00 pm.
