Montana Tech will host a Veteran’s appreciation luncheon on Monday, November 10 at noon in the Copper Lounge in the Student Union Building. The event is sponsored by the Montana Tech Student Veteran Task Force in honor of Montana Tech students, faculty and staff who served or are currently serving.
This year, the Task Force will present the first-ever Distinguished Student Veteran Recognition Award. Student veterans were nominated by Montana Tech faculty, staff, or students based the criteria of reliability, initiative, uniqueness of their contribution, and community and campus service.
“Our committee received 16 nominations for the award,” noted Janet Friesz, Veterans School Certifying Official, member of the Veterans Task Force. “Based on the nominations, it is clear the quality of our Montana Tech Veteran students is exceptional.”
Dr. Doug Abbott, Montana Tech Provost, will present the nominees at the awards ceremony and announce the winner of the award.
