Montana Tech Celebrates Town Pump Donation to Kids' College

While prepping for its 10th annual Kids College, Montana Tech is excited to celebrate a new Kids College sponsor. Town Pump, through its Town Pump Education Foundation, has donated $500 to the program.

Kids’ College is a unique summer opportunity for local elementary students to gain enriching science and math educational experiences. “The program began when moms around the community mentioned there were a lot of athletic and art camps in the summer, but few had a real science focus,” noted Amanda Shroyer, Montana Tech Kids’ College co-director. “We work hard to pair the scientific community of Montana Tech and Southwestern Montana with the youth for hands-on scientific inquiry.”

The new partnership with Town Pump will ensure every student  is provided with a healthy, daily snack and a cool graduation memoir at the conclusion of the week. The funding will also provide scholarships to those who cannot afford the registration fee.

Kids’ College will be offered each month this summer, June 15th – 19th, July 13th –17th, and August 3rd – 7th on campus.  The week long schedule begins around 9 AM for primary (first-third grade) and 1 PM for intermediate (fourth-six grade) students and lasts for 3 hours Monday through Friday with a graduation ceremony on Friday.  To learn more contact Amanda Shroyer at (406)496-4878 or AShroyer@mtech.edu or visit http://institute.mtech.edu/kids-college/.
