Dr. John Ray Accepted for Membership in the International Hegel Association

Dr. John W. Ray of Montana Tech’s Liberal Studies Department has been accepted for membership in the International Hegel Association (Internationale Hegel-Vereinigung) sponsored by the Department of Philosophy at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. Membership is open to those who have published philosophical treatises on Hegel’s philosophy and is offered only after a rigorous screening process by the Board of the Association. Dr. Ray will be presenting a paper later this fall on the political philosophies of Kant and Hegel at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany.

The Association was founded to promote the study of the philosophy of Georg Hegel, a major 19th Century German philosopher and includes as members more than 250 philosophers from around the world.

Dr. Ray teaches classes in political science at Montana Tech and received his PhD in political philosophy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
