Dr. John Ray has Peer Reviewed Paper Accepted for Presentation

Dr. John W. Ray of Montana Tech’s Liberal Studies Department has had a peer reviewed paper entitled “China’s Search for Energy Security: Implications for International Politics” accepted for presentation at the Tenth Global Studies Conference to be held at the National University of Singapore—Republic of Singapore this summer.
In his paper, Dr. Ray argues that: “As is the case with the United States, Europe and Japan, much of Chinese foreign policy is centered on the search for energy security. This search for energy security has significant implications for the possibilities of peace in East Asia as well as the world. The politics of scarcity brought on by the search for energy security can be as great a threat to peace as is military aggression.”

Dr. Ray has previously made presentations on the topic of energy security and international politics at Oxford University in England and at Fudan University in Shanghai, China. He teaches classes at Montana Tech in political science, political theory and public policy.
