30th Annual John 'Jocko' Evans Symposium

The Montana Technological University Petroleum Department and the student chapter of Society of Petroleum Engineers invite you to the 30th Annual "Jocko" Evans Technical Symposium and Golf Tournament April 10-12, 2025. The symposium features a technical program of alumni and industry speakers covering a range of topics. The meeting will conclude with a golf tournament at the Anaconda "Old Works" golf course on Saturday, April 12th (weather permitting).

We hope you all can attend. We will have technical presentations Thursday afternoon (4/10) and Friday (4/11) and golf on Saturday (4/12), as well as our usual dinners and social events. It will conclude with the Miners Ball and Digger Auction on Saturday evening. It should be a great time!

The technical conferences and social events of the annual symposium provide an opportunity for petroleum industry professionals to gather with engineering students to share information about our oil and gas industry. The success of the Symposium has been established as a networking and educational forum dedicated to growing people's networks and forging connections between employers and students, whether that be in the banquet hall or on the golf course.

We are currently soliciting presentations for this year's technical talks. This is a great way to share your knowledge and be recognized in our field. We are looking for project overviews showcasing work by new engineers on through senior engineering level projects.

If you are interested in presenting or if you know someone who would be a good speaker, please contact Assistant Professor, Dave Reichardt, Ph.D. at DReichardt@mtech.edu.
