What is Chemistry?

Chemistry is often referred to as the central science — it is the nature of matter. It is the crux of explaining the real world and extends beyond the classic areas of the field into exciting interdisciplinary areas such as computational chemistry, biotechnology, biogeochemistry, and materials science. Chemists study substances at the atomic and molecular levels and how substances interact.
