BIT Department to Host Executive Lecture Series

Montana Tech Department of Business and Information Technology will be hosting an Executive Lecture Series starting in March. The series, titled First Friday, will feature top area executives addressing contemporary topics in business and leadership. The first lecture is scheduled to take place at 12 noon on Friday, March 7, 2014 in the Copper Lounge of the Student Union Building (SUB) on the campus of Montana Tech. Lawrence Simkins, President and CEO of the Washington Companies, is the inaugural speaker and will be presenting on the topic Innovation in Traditional Industries and Opportunities for Growth. 

Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. and the cost of the event is $15 ($5 for students) which includes lunch. Net proceeds from the event will go to the Montana Tech student business club.

The series will be held on the first Friday of every month during the academic year and is designed to attract Montana Tech alumni and community business leaders throughout the area as an educational and networking opportunity. Future speakers this spring will include Robert Rowe, CEO and President of Northwestern Energy, and Tim Dilworth, SVP of Marketing at Overstock.com.
