Montana Tech becomes Montana's first member of the SAP University Alliance

Through the efforts of the Business & Information Technology (BIT) department, Montana Tech has become the first college or university in Montana to be invited to be a member of the SAP University Alliance. SAPs the world’s largest business software company most known for its global leadership in Enterprise System (ES) software. SAP is also at the forefront of the current Big Data, Cloud computing, and Business Intelligence boom. ES is multi-million dollar software designed for an entire enterprise integrating accounting, HR, marketing, production, customer relationship management, and supply chain management. Nearly all Fortune 1000 companies use some form of ES.

SAP will provide software, training videos, case studies, and other resources to prepare Montana Tech students to be employed by companies using ESs. It will also significantly enhance the current Enterprise Systems course being taught in the BIT department as well as the planned development of a Business Intelligence/Big Data Analytics course. Montana Tech will participate in the SAP National Conference reserved only for University Alliance members.

Most industry experts predict Enterprise Systems and Big Data analytics to continue to grow in global importance to organizations well into the foreseeable future. Montana Tech’s membership in the SAP University Alliance positions it to be a leader in training and educating students in this important arena.
