Custodial Services
The Facilities Custodial Department is responsible for the cleaning of all State funded buildings.
The services listed below in Items I, II, and III are provided at no charge to the building user Sunday through Friday between 9:00pm and 2:30pm. Additional custodial services listed in Item IV must be arranged for with the Work Order Desk (406-496-4101 or 406-496-4168) and funded by the user.
I. SERVICES PROVIDED AT NO CHARGE DAILY, WEEKLY, AS NEEDED ACCORDING TO AVAILABLE RESOURCES.
Level 1 Services – These are the standards that can be expected when our team is working fully staffed.
- All Hallways & Public Spaces
- All Entryway glass, door frames, mats, and flooring will be cleaned daily.
- Trash will be emptied and new liners replaced as needed.
- Hard Flooring will be swept and spot mopped daily.
- Carpeting will be spot vacuumed daily.
- Drinking fountains will be disinfected and polished daily.
- Stairs will be swept/mopped as needed, or weekly at a minimum.
- Snow shoveled up to 15 feet outside door unless otherwise specified.
- All Classrooms, Labs & Conference Rooms
- Trash will be emptied and new liners replaced as needed.
- Hard Flooring will be swept and spot mopped daily.
- Carpeting will be spot vacuumed daily.
- Table tops will be completely wiped with disinfectant on a weekly basis.
- Ledges, window sills, and furniture will be dusted on a weekly basis.
- Sinks will be cleaned on a weekly basis
- All Offices
- Trash will be emptied and new liners replaced as needed.
- Hard Flooring will be swept and spot mopped daily.
- Carpeting will be spot vacuumed daily.
- Table tops will be completely wiped with disinfectant on a weekly basis.
- Ledges, window sills, and furniture will be dusted on a weekly basis.
- We do not touch or move personal items in sills, ledges or desktops.
- All Restrooms
- Trash will be emptied and new liners replaced as needed.
- Sanitary napkin waste receptacles cleaned out daily. Wax bags should be used whenever possible. Receptacle should be wiped daily.
- Toilet Paper/Paper Towels, Hand soap refreshed as needed.
- All sinks, toilets, urinals, and other fixtures should be completely cleaned and disinfected daily.
- Walls and partitions should be spot wiped daily and completely wiped down weekly.
- All vents, sills, and ledges should be dusted on a weekly basis.
- All flooring, edges and baseboards should be swept and damp mopped with a restroom cleaner daily.
- All Locker Rooms / Showers
- Trash will be emptied and new liners replaced as needed.
- Sanitary napkin waste receptacles cleaned out daily. Wax bags should be used whenever possible. Receptacle should be wiped daily.
- Toilet Paper/Paper Towels, Hand soap refreshed as needed.
- All sinks, toilets, urinals, and other fixtures should be completely cleaned and disinfected daily.

- Weight Rooms
- Trash will be removed daily.
- All Flooring will be spot vacuumed & spot damp mopped daily.
- All Flooring will be completely vacuumed and damp mopped on a weekly basis.
- Drinking fountains will be disinfected and polished daily.
- Stairs will be swept/mopped as needed, or weekly at a minimum.
Level 2 Services – These are the standards that can be expected when our team is working (2) or less, short staffed.
- All Hallways & Public Spaces
- All Entryway glass and mats will be cleaned. Entry floors spot cleaned.
- Trash will be emptied.
- Hard and carpeted flooring will be spot cleaned.
- Drinking fountains will be disinfected.
- Snow shoveled up to 15 feet outside door unless otherwise specified.
- All Classrooms
- Trash will be emptied and new liners replaced as needed.
- Hard Flooring will be swept and spot mopped daily.
- All Offices
- Trash will be emptied and new liners replaced as needed.
- Hard and carpeted flooring will be spot cleaned.
- All Restrooms
- Trash will be emptied and new liners replaced as needed.
- Sanitary napkin waste receptacles cleaned out daily.
- Toilet Paper/Paper Towels, Hand soap refreshed as needed.
- All sinks, toilets, urinals, and other fixtures should be completely cleaned and disinfected daily.
- Floors will be damp mopped with restroom cleaner.
- All Locker Rooms / Showers
- Trash will be emptied and new liners replaced as needed.
- Sanitary napkin waste receptacles cleaned out daily.
- Toilet Paper/Paper Towels, Hand soap refreshed as needed.
- All sinks, toilets, urinals, and other fixtures should be completely cleaned and disinfected daily.
- Floors will be damp mopped with restroom cleaner.
- Weight Rooms
- Trash will be removed daily.
- All Flooring will be spot vacuumed & spot damp mopped.
- Drinking fountains will be disinfected
Level 3 Services – These are the standards that can be expected when our team is working (3) or more, short staffed.
- Trash will be emptied throughout the entire building.
- Entryways will be spot cleaned.
- Hallways swept or vacuumed and spot mopped.
- Snow shoveled up to 15 feet outside door unless otherwise specified.
- Restrooms & locker rooms will have trash removed, floors swept and spot mopped, supplies replenished, and fixtures disinfected.
- Weight rooms will have trash removed.
II. SERVICES PROVIDED AT NO CHARGE SEMI-ANNUALLY
- University trash containers cleaned
- Accessible areas detail vacuumed including edging
- Classroom furniture cleaned
- Ceiling vents cleaned
- Gum removed as needed
III. SERVICES PROVIDED AT NO CHARGE ANNUALLY (COMPLETED DURING SCHOOL BREAKS)
- Accessible University carpets extracted as needed
- Accessible University interior public glass cleaned as needed
- Accessible hard floors cleaned, polished or refinished as needed
- Reachable University light fixtures cleaned as needed
IV. OTHER SERVICES PROVIDED AT AN ADDITIONAL COST
- Any custodial service outside of our regular hours (Sun - Fri 9:00pm to 2:30pm) including Weekends and Holidays
- Any extra cleaning required due to non-academic activities including productions, recitals, building or room rental, and events
- Clean up after academic events charging public admission
- Clean up after catered events
- Floor refinishing or carpet extracting more than once in a year or requested during semesters
- Other custodial requests not included above
