Undergraduate Admitted Students- First Year, Transfer, Nontraditional, Highlands College
Congratulations, future Orediggers! You have a bright future ahead of you at Montana Tech. We want to make sure your transition to campus is smooth and trouble-free.
Your Personal URL (PURL) can be your primary source for enrollment information, event registration, and other related resources. If you don't have your PURL address, just visit http://iam.mtech.edu/login/ and log in using the email address you used when you applied for admission. The system will then redirect you to your PURL. If you forgot your password, select the "Send me a new password." or contact your admissions representative for assistance.
Below, there is information on applying for housing, registering for classes, orientation, and online digital resources for students.
If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your admissions representative or the admissions office. We’re here to help!
All first-year students under 21 years old are required to live in the residence halls their first year at Montana Tech. All other students are invited to live in a residence hall, as space permits. Living on campus will help you become more connected and engaged with the campus community and improve your academic experience. There are three halls available with a variety of room options to choose from. Housing is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. If you would like to request a specific hall or a single room, apply early. Applications received before June 1st will receive priority consideration.
You can find the housing application on your Personal URL website, the same site where you applied for admission. For complete details on each residence hall, housing costs, meal plan options, and how to apply, visit the Residence Life pages.
Class registration for new incoming students opens in May for the Fall/Summer semesters or November for the Spring semester and remains open until the Friday before classes begin. Follow the steps below to complete the registration process.
-
Review Your Admission File!
To register for classes, we must have official test scores (ACT or SAT) and records of two doses of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination on file in admissions. If either of these items are missing from your admission file, you are not yet eligible to register for classes. Review your admission checklist on your personal URL/personalized Montana Tech website and submit any remaining items as soon as you are able.
No ACT or SAT scores? If you don't have scores, you may take a Montana Tech placement exam instead. Visit our Testing Center page to learn about testing options. -
Get Registered!
Are you ready to register for your classes? We're ready to help! Navigate to the "Get Registered for Classes!" link on your PURL in May for fall-entry students and November for spring-entry students, or contact the Admissions Office at 406-496-4791 or admissions@mtech.edu. We will verify your admissions file is complete, and if so, send your information to your academic advisor for registration.
