Q: Where should transcripts be sent?
A: Transcripts are only considered 'official' when all grades and a graduation date have been posted, and the document is sent to Montana Tech via secure delivery service like Parchment, an email from a counselor, or in a signed, sealed envelope. Students will need an unofficial copy of their transcript sent when they apply. An official copy will need to be sent after high school graduation.
Email: admissions@mtech.edu
Address: Admissions, 1300 West Park Street, Butte, MT 59701
Q: Do students need to take the SAT or ACT?
A: Montana Tech is test-optional, and there are other ways to gain admittance. However, SAT and ACT scores are used to calculate scholarship eligibility, and to determine math and writing placement. Students do not have to take the SAT or ACT, but these scores are very helpful for students to have.
Q: How do students see their admission status, apply for housing, and apply for internal scholarships?
A: The student's Personal URL (PURL) will be their primary source for enrollment information, event registration, and other related resources. If you don't have your PURL address, just visit http://iam.mtech.edu/ and type your email address into the email field. The system will then redirect the student to their PURL.
Q: What vaccination records are required and where can they be sent?
A: All domestic freshmen must have proof of 2 measles, mumps and rubella vaccinations (or proof of immunity or religious/medical exemption). Records can be sent via email to admissions@mtech.edu or via fax to 406-496-4707.
Q: I've submitted my application already, but I need to update it. What should I do?
A: Please do not submit another application. Submit updated materials by please emailing the Admissions Office at admissions@mtech.edu.
We will answer your questions and help you get started.
