Residence Hall living is a great way to get settled on campus and make friends. We offer three co-ed residence halls with space for approximately 446 students.

Centennial Hall at Montana Tech
Centennial Hall

Centennial Hall was constructed to serve an increasing demand for on-campus housing. It serves approximately 100 first-year students and consists of mostly suite style rooms with both double and single occupancy options.

Living Learning Center at Montana Tech
Living Learning Center

The Living Learning Center (LLC) is Montana Tech’s newest residence hall. The LLC is designed to provide students a more independent living lifestyle while still providing open area spaces for social interactions.

Prospector Hall at Montana Tech
Prospector Hall

Prospector Hall was the Montana School of Mines' first, dedicated residence hall. It houses just under 200 students and is the home of the Office of Housing and Residence Life.

Room and Board Contract

Your Residence Hall Contract includes both room and board. All residents must choose a meal plan option. If you do not designate a meal plan option on your contract, you will be assigned the All Inclusive Meal plan.

Room Reservation Deposit

When you submit your signed Residence Hall Contract, you will be required to pay a one-hundred dollar ($100 USD) room reservation deposit.Your deposit reserves a room for you in one of our residence halls. It also serves as evidence of your commitment to live there.What else should you know about your deposit?

  • It's fully refundable if the Office of Housing and Residence Life is notified of your cancellation by May 1.
  • If you do not cancel your room by May 1, your deposit will be non-refundable, whether or not you choose to attend Montana Tech.
  • Once you move into a residence hall, your room reservation deposit becomes a damage deposit.
  • If there are no damage charges or other fees assessed against your account, we will refund your deposit at the end of the contract period.

Room and Board Refunds

If a student cancels their enrollment and/or is approved to be released from on-campus housing and/or meal plan requirement, they may be eligible for a refund of room and board fees accordingly to the schedule below. Room and board refunds are processed based on the student's actual checkout date with a staff member from Residence Life. Students with declining balance meal plans will have their board refund determined and calculated based on the schedule below, or the remaining balance of the meal plan - whichever is less.
